As Socitm celebrates its 40th anniversary, this issue of In Our View draws on the experience of four local public service technology leaders, Geoff Connell, Dylan Roberts, Sam Smith and Nadira Hussain. For the main feature they discuss what disrupted and boosted their careers and what advise they give to those moving towards leadership. The magazine, produced for the June 2026 President’s Conference in London, also includes a ‘Personal view’ article from incoming President Yogita Popat, a summary of Socitm’s five digital trends for this year and how the society can help with local government reorganisation.
