Socitm unveils new logo for 2025

Authors and contributors: Benjamin Hughes

You may have noticed that the Socitm website is now sporting a new logo! With the recent rebrand of Socitm Advisory (now Civiteq), we thought it was high time our own logo was given a polish up.

Up to this point, due to the close positioning of both companies in name and visual identity, any changes in our unified look had to be made in cooperation with Advisory. As Advisory’s transition process to Civiteq is now complete, we are in a position to move the Socitm brand forward.

Goals for the refresh

As we looked at how we could update the logo, our main goal was always to bring a fresh take on what we already have, rather than attempting to create something entirely different. We wanted to bring some degree of modernisation to the existing design, while still retaining key features so we can maintain Socitm’s brand integrity, ensuring continuity and familiarity for those we engage with.

Socitm is a recognised brand within the public sector and we want to strengthen the visual connection our members and partner have with us.

Old to new

The existing Socitm logo featured a very stylised S-shape and a speech bubble in the centre. This speech bubble is a reference to Socitm’s place as a collaborative network – bringing people together from across the sectors to inspire change in public services. It’s also a great link to our values, with Socitm being a voice speaking truth with power, having a spirit of collaboration and being people-focused.

With the implementation of the new logo, this theme continues. As you can see, we’ve kept the S-shape concept, so visually, there’s still reference to the current logo. The speech bubble is still there too, and the recreated S-shape is using two of the speech bubbles to form the S-shape. We’ve also swapped to a simpler font.

Overall, the logo is bolder and feels more prominent, and we hope this update will strengthen the positive way Socitm is viewed externally.

What’s next?

You may be wondering if changes to the logo will affect anything else in our current branding? Minor changes have already been implemented over time, such as improvements to our brand colours, with the blue and navy becoming more prominent. For us though, this latest refresh is a simple swap of the logo; everything else, including our illustrations, will continue to look the same. Keep an eye out on our website though, as within the next few months, we do have plans to bring you a new and improved homepage with better layout and a simplified navigation menu.

We hope you’ll agree that this logo update is a positive step forward. It wasn’t about completely changing the look of Socitm, it’s more of a progression of the logo – honouring the elements of the previous design.

We’d also like to thank to our valued members and partners for continuing to be an integral part of the Socitm journey. We look forward to further collaboration and engagement throughout 2025.
