A first ever online graduation ceremony will take place on 16 July between 6 – 7.30pm to celebrate the success of the 2019-20 Leadership Academy cohorts.
The event will mark the completion of a number of programmes that have been delivered over the past year for colleagues across the public sector.
The development programmes are designed and delivered in partnership with QA training. They harness, stretch, and promote the talent and skills essential to successful contemporary leadership.
For those undertaking an academy programme, this is the first stage of the ‘lead’ development cycle. Enrolling on this pathway of personal and professional growth introduces cohorts to the pillars of successful leadership. It also enables them to experience the additional benefit of belonging to the Socitm family where they are able to flourish and gain confidence in a supportive and nurturing environment
Public sector staff organised themselves and their teams differently in response to this year’s Covid-19 crisis. The skills gained through the academy have helped ou members respond positively and proactively to the challenges and manage actions and reactions effectively and sensitively.
Graduation from our Leadership Academy automatically makes people part of a unique network of influential thinkers with the collective power to make impactful decisions within the public sector.
Notable academy alumni Include Samantha Smith, who graduated from the Empowering Women programme in 2016 and became Socitm’s 2020-21 President on 9 June.
Socitm’s Director of Leadership development and research, Nadira Hussain, said:
“It’s never been more important to attract, retain and develop people with passion, commitment and foresight. Through their vision, we can transform public services and deliver robust, customer-centric, place-based outcomes for the communities we serve.
I am immensely impressed by the achievements of the public sector over recent months and am incredibly proud of the dedication and application shown by all our graduates. They form part of an essential alumni community that will share their experiences, work collaboratively and use innovative and authentic leadership to transform our services”.
