Evolution to best support the digital delivery of public services

Socitm continues to challenge convention, inspire change and power progress

In this environment of constant change, we’ve taken a holistic overview of our services to make sure they still offer best value to our members, both professionally and personally. As a result of this detailed review earlier this year, services have been refreshed and our look and feel enlivened. We’re confident this evolution makes the society more representative than ever of the commitment to champion innovation in order to continually improve the services provided to citizens.

Evolution in 2019:

These exciting changes open a new chapter in the Socitm story while remaining true to the values the society has upheld throughout its history.

  • New membership and partnership packages allow existing and new members and associates to build upon their service offering as part of a scalable journey
  • A brand-new website, offering greater accessibility and more pertinent information in a more concise form
  • Socitm is now the Society for Innovation, Technology and Modernisation.

Our vision is to be the preferred network for professionals who are shaping and delivering public services.

Public sector service delivery is dependent on the ability to manage and thrive upon change. In today’s disruptive climate our members are expected to adapt rapidly and find innovative solutions to new challenges all the time.

The training and coaching available through the Leadership Academy has been an exciting journey since the first session in 2016.

At the end of 2018 we had 200 graduates and once the programme has closed for this year – there’s one more course, Senior Leaders, on 5 December – we should have almost 400 graduates. We’re keen to develop a means of keeping our alumni engaged and motivated and feeling a part of the Socitm ‘family’. The first alumni get together will be on Tuesday 10 December (yes this is a new date – thanks for paying attention – that no longer clashes with the general election) hosted by our partner Canon:

Leadership Academy Alumni 2019
Date: Tuesday 10 December
Time: 10.00-16.00
Venue: Canon, The View, 6 St Andrew Street, Holborn, London EC4A 3AE (nearest stations are City Thameslink, Chancery Lane and Farringdon)

On the agenda for the day is speed dating for our pilot mentoring scheme. We’re still interested in hearing from potential mentors and mentees. While you enjoy a seasonal packed lunch, sit down with fellow volunteers and see if you’re the perfect match. If taking part in the scheme isn’t for you, this is also a chance to network with your peers and catch up with fellow cohort from your Leadership Academy programme.

“Managing expectations, wrestling austerity, mitigating risk and effecting organisational culture change are among the many challenges faced by digital leaders in the public sector. As a member-led society, we understand the hurdles you need to overcome on the digital transformation journey. This knowledge and empathy allow us to support you better by ensuring we meet your specific needs.”
Chantelle Denny, Finance and operations director
