How the Third Sector and technology can make a difference.

During the COVID pandemic, volunteers have stepped forward in large numbers to support those who are shielding or are vulnerable in local communities. Notably, GoodSAM attracted 750K volunteers, but only 10%-17% were called to perform a task. In reality, if you include vaccination centres and other local initiatives, about 2M volunteers have come forward to help in this national emergency.

At a time when local budgets are under severe pressure, how can we use these valuable resources? How can we harness this pent-up energy as we move out of lockdown to create a long-term, sustainable community support environment?
