Thank you so much for being a Socitm member.
Whether you’re new or have been involved for years, your feedback makes our local public services community more useful, relevant and easier to access for everyone.
Please complete this year’s annual survey.
Your feedback directly shapes our work
Reflect on your experiences with our Socitm community, whether you’re getting the most out of your membership, and how we can better support you.
Through the focus groups held in April, and our 2025 survey, you told us what matters most. And we’re making changes as a result.
Thank you to everyone who contributed this year and last. This survey helps us keep conversations going and guides your services, events, and support over the next 3 years.
The survey closes on 31 July, takes around 10 minutes to complete and has 30 questions (not all of them will be relevant to you).
You can skip any that do not apply to your role or experience.
Anyone in your organisation can take part, and we welcome more than 1 response per organisation.
What’s different this year?
The team’s updated this year’s survey to reflect feedback from April’s members’ focus groups, while retaining key questions from 2025 so we can track changes.
We’ve added, removed, or refined some questions to:
- Reflect current member priorities and concerns raised in focus groups
- Improve clarity and reduce repetition
- Focus more on value and impact, where we already hold usage data
Where questions remain the same as last year, this helps us understand trends and changes across the membership.
Completing the survey
The survey consists of yes or no questions, ranking and multiple choice questions and comment boxes for free text.
Additionally, we’ve added in an opportunity for you at the end of the survey to provide any extra comments.

If you have any questions, please first take a look at the FAQs listed below. You can also email us at hello@socitm.net

FAQs
Do I have to complete the survey?
No, participation in the study is optional however we encourage as many of our members to take part as possible to help shape our offer support to you – our members and influence the future direction of Socitm.
Who can complete the survey?
Anyone in your organisation who is a Socitm member can complete the survey, even if we receive multiple responses per organisation.
We’re looking for feedback from everyone, whether you’ve got a lot of experience with Socitm and our resources, or you’re a newly onboarded member.
How will my responses be used?
Your responses will be analysed mainly in summary form to understand overall themes and priorities across the membership community. We do not assess individual performance or organisations.
Is my feedback confidential?
You will be asked for your name and email address so we can:
- Avoid duplicate entries
- Understand responses by role and organisation
- Contact you only if you choose to be contacted
Your individual responses will not be shared publicly or attributed to you without your permission.
Will my contact details be shared with anyone else?
No. Your contact details will only be used by Socitm for the purposes of this survey. They will not be shared with partners, suppliers, or any external organisations.
Will Socitm contact me after the survey?
Only if you say yes. At the end, you can choose whether you’d like us to follow up with you about your membership or any feedback.
Why do some questions only appear depending on my answers?
Some questions are shown or hidden based on your earlier responses, for example if you select a particular service or role. This helps keep the survey relevant and avoids asking you questions that are not applicable.
Can more than 1 person from my organisation respond?
Yes. We welcome multiple responses from the same organisation, especially from people in different roles or service areas.
Do I have to answer every question?
No. You can skip any questions that are not relevant to you. Required questions are kept to a minimum.
I’m not a lead member, should I complete the survey?
Yes. Most of the survey is for all members. There is one short section specifically for lead members, which you can skip if it does not apply to you.
Are my responses shared with partners?
No. Feedback about partners is used internally to help Socitm understand member views and improve governance, transparency, and value. Individual responses are not shared with partners.
What will happen after the survey closes?
We’ll analyse the results, alongside insights from last year and April’s focus groups. Findings and next steps will be shared with you, showing how your feedback is shaping our priorities and services.
Can I save and come back later?
Your responses are saved only when you submit the survey. Please plan to complete it in one sitting where possible. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Is the survey accessible?
We aim to ensure it’s accessible to everyone. If you experience any difficulties completing it or need reasonable adjustments, please contact us and we’ll do our best to support you.
