Overview

Theme: Ethical and responsible use of tech and data

Our meetings can be face-to-face (with refreshments provided) or virtual (bring your own refreshments) and will be focused on Socitm’s policy themes. Within these themed meetings your regional committee is free to create an agenda that works best for you and your regional colleagues. If there’s something you would like to discuss or investigate with like-minded peers just let us know on hello@socitm.net and we will co-ordinate that with and for you.

    Jeni Smith, founder of NetKno, will be sharing valuable insights into the power of networking for knowledge. With almost 20 years’ experience in the field, and two years into her PhD researching networks, we’ll explore how network diversity can play a role in innovation and efficiency.

    Learn how cloud procurements differ from traditional IT procurements and what tools / resources are available to help IT Teams better understand cloud – and how to buy it. We will then deep dive on the different Frameworks to help you become comfortable with the options.  Finally focusing on working with cloud partners / resellers to help navigate the process and discuss the rise of the digital marketplace for SaaS.

  7. 12:30 Using problem tree analysis to better understand how to attract and retain staff

    Steve Newton, Technology Strategist, Microsoft

    The presentation will focus on the use of problem tree analysis, a tool that maps out the causes and effects of a problem, to better understand it. We will then examine the problem of attracting and retaining staff and build on possible solutions open to LRG.
