  2. 10:10 From Legacy Data to Connected Solutions: Delivering Large-Scale Migration with SharePoint and Dataverse

This session will explore the delivery of a complex data and document migration programme involving datasets ranging from 48,000 to 878,000 records. It will cover the challenges of migrating legacy information where metadata and document references were spread across multiple datasets, and how relationships were successfully reconstructed using primary keys and GUID-based references. The session will also demonstrate how SharePoint and Dataverse were used together to create a scalable solution, with documents stored in SharePoint and structured metadata maintained in Dataverse, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and long-term usability.

Rumby Machaka, M365 Engineer, Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council

  3. 10:30 Tanium
LGR is paused for most councils, but the challenges that surfaced haven’t gone away: overlapping systems, increasing hardware costs, fragmented data, and inconsistent security postures across the estate. This session shares the common stumbling blocks around asset visibility, cyber exposure, software rationalisation, and identity, and where regions are starting to collaborate on data and common platforms.
The core message: you can’t secure or rationalise what you can’t see. Councils need a real-time, accurate view of their environment, the ability to act on it immediately, and the control to patch critical vulnerabilities within 14 days. That standard doesn’t pause when LGR does.
    Rob Broughall, Domain Architect, Tanium
  4. 10:50 What LGR has taught us?

After countless meetings, workshops and discussions, what have we actually learned? This session looks back at the successes, challenges and unexpected benefits of the LGR journey, with a particular focus on the stronger collaboration that developed between IT, Digital and Data teams across the region.

Gavin Muncaster, Director of Digital, Southampton City Centre

  5. 11:10 Transforming through transition - Insights from ending a long-term IT Contract and how it is shaping the future of Digital, Data and Technology at Barnet

Ending a 13-year IT outsourcing contract was more than a transition programme, it was an opportunity to rethink how Digital, Data and Technology should operate in the future. This presentation shares the key lessons learned from the exit, the risks and successes encountered, and how these insights are shaping a new DDaT operating model. By reflecting on the past and designing for the future, we are building stronger digital capabilities, improving service resilience, and creating a platform for ongoing transformation and innovation.

Barry May, Assistant Director, Resident Experience, Digital & Commercial, London Borough of Barnet

  8. 12:05 Cost-Effective Supply Chain Security Assurance

A proportionate and cost-effective method for assessing the security arrangements of suppliers and service providers that helps organisations identify and understand supply chain risks relating to information, systems, personnel, physical assets, business continuity and, where applicable, artificial intelligence. The responses enable commissioning officers to determine whether suppliers have appropriate safeguards in place to protect information assets throughout the contract lifecycle and to identify areas requiring further evidence, clarification, or assurance.
