Version two of this policy has been developed and updated by Yasmine Hajji (Senior Research Analyst, Socitm), with support from Matthew Fraser (Technical Consultant, Socitm) and the original authors.
Version one was authored by Martin Ferguson (Emeritus Research Fellow, Socitm) and Mike Manson (Chief Executive, ALGIM).
The first version of this template was published on 27 June 2023 by the Association of Local Government Information Management (ALGIM), in collaboration with Socitm. ALGIM is Socitm’s partner organisation in New Zealand, with a shared mission to bring people and technology together to improve local government services.
Socitm and ALGIM have a longstanding relationship, including collaboration through LOLA (the Linked Organisation of Local Authority ICT Societies), which supports the exchange of international perspectives on local government practice.
Both the original and updated versions of this policy template have been reviewed and approved by Socitm’s Policy and Research team and ALGIM’s Information Management team.
