Socitm is delighted today (Monday 27 January) to announce the launch of its public sector Digital Trends report for 2025.
As digital transformation continues to reshape our world, local public service leaders are facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities.
In response, Socitm’s report and research offers a roadmap to reimagine service delivery with innovation, technology, community, and place at its heart.
To inspire bold action and proactive strategies, the report poses 10 critical questions every public service leader must address.
These questions challenge leaders to step ‘beyond borders’, whether they be cultural, administrative, organisational or structural.
“The future of digital leadership demands a proactive, outward-looking, collaborative and inclusive approach. Our report provides a practical framework for leaders to rethink public service delivery, strengthen resilience, and harness the transformative power of technology and data for the benefit of the organisations and communities they serve.”
Martin Ferguson, Research director, Socitm
Focusing on three deep dive areas covering data, cybersecurity and reimagining services, the report exposes the critical interdependencies of digital initiatives and organisational goals. It emphasises the importance of clear vision and teamwork to achieve better social, economic and environmental outcomes.
“At the heart of change are the people — leaders, teams, and communities — who make it happen. This report is not just a guide to leveraging technology but a call to mentor and empower individuals to think boldly, collaborate widely, and to create inclusive solutions that truly serve our communities and places.”
Carol Williams, Socitm President and Director Transformation and Digital at Walsall Council
