Socitm appoints new CEO and Director

Nadira Hussain, Socitm's new CEO, and David Ogden, Socitm's new director of engagement

Socitm is delighted to announce a double appointment to its board.

With effect from 4 April, Nadira Hussain, the society’s current director of leadership development and research will be appointed as CEO, and David Ogden as director of engagement.

Nadira takes over the role from David Bryant who will remain as commercial and finance director.

During her three years with Socitm, Nadira has been the driving force in developing the organisation’s Leadership Academy, creating and delivering new learning and development opportunities for more public sector colleagues than ever before. Her ambition has been to create a more robust and inclusive talent pipeline of future leaders.

David’s role will be enhanced from Socitm’s head of communications and marketing, where he has led organisational change to develop a more focused and nuanced plan of engagement activity. His focus will be supporting Socitm to grow further its positive reputation in the public sector – creating opportunties to engage with stakeholders to shape and influence the organisation’s aims and ambitions.

Nadira said:

“On a personal and professional level, I am both humbled and delighted to be given the opportunity to take Socitm forward into an organisation that is even more supportive of the aims and aspirations of its members and better represents the communities we serve. I am optimistic that we will continue to deliver benefits in what will without doubt, be challenging but exciting times for our sector. I’d like to thank David Bryant for the phenomenal contribution he has made as CEO for a number of years, the support that he has personally offered me and thank him and the board in selecting me to take Socitm to the next level.

David Ogden’s appointment is a key one for the society as it strengthens the executive function with the communications and marketing expertise he brings. This additional change will signal the importance of working more closely with our members and strategic partners.”

David added:

“I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity. Socitm offers so much value to its members and can do so much more within our sector. We are in tough times right now and it won’t be getting any easier anytime soon, so our determination to support the amazing work going on in the public sector right now is needed more than ever.”
