Overview

Theme: Planning during volatile and uncertain times

Hosted by: Oracle

More than ever, local authorities are beginning to realise the value of data sitting within their organisations and outside their organisations. Most organisations are getting to grips with the basics – understanding how to effectively collect and manage the data to make it usable. But the desire to digitally transform front and back office operations are increasing the urgency.

This workshop is an opportunity to explore how data can be used by local authorities to manage through a crisis. For example, how can a council address the immediate challenges that face the authority, such as mounting social care costs and falling revenue. Reimagine the council for the longer-term, including how services must be reinvented and reformed? And what is the role of the CIO in enabling this shift in thinking?

The Oracle team will be joined by our local authority customers, to provide a practical exploration of the issues. This will include an overview of the financial and operational challenges facing authorities, how data can be joined up across an authority to promote transparency and preparations for multiple futures. There will also be opportunities for you to express your views and offer feedback.
