Overview
‘The human mind is like a parachute – it functions better when it’s open’
More managers are using coaching skills to develop and grow the talent in their teams. This is particularly important for our hybrid and remote working patterns. The ‘push’ style of leadership is often proving ineffective. A leader who knows how to adopt a ‘pull’ approach will get far better results. This is where coaching staff and teams will facilitate better outcomes.
Coaching is a cost-effective personal development tool that can reap benefits for you and your organisation – providing the coach obtains the necessary skills. It’s important the organisation supports and understands the wider benefits of improved productivity, performance, and motivation that can be realised through the adoption of effective coaching techniques.
This course is designed to improve your understanding of the coaching process, and to develop the skills needed to work successfully with others.
Duration: Two half-days
Sectors: Public and private
Career level: Managers and team leaders
Points worth: 2 point*
*Our courses are all worth a certain amount of points. Your membership package comes with an allocation of points to use throughout the year to suit the needs of your organisation.
Structure
This course is spread over the period of 2-3 weeks, meaning there is a gap between the first half day and the next.
The aim of this Leadership Academy course is to provide you with the essential skills and techniques needed to have effective coaching conversations. There’s an opportunity to practise these skills – receiving feedback and support from your facilitator. The two-module structure allows you time to try techniques in your working environment, and report back successes and challenges during the second session.
