Call for evidence: Large Language Models inquiry

Written evidence on LLMs in government submitted by the Local Government Association, Society for Innovation, Technology and Modernisation and Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers. Deployment of AI, particularly LLMs, offers significant opportunities in both the delivery of public services and the streamlining of business operations, but there are risks. Given the significant resource and funding constraints in local government and the growing expectations and responsibilities being placed on councils, they need to be part of an AI-powered future in the UK and must be supported to participate.
