Here you’ll find details of our high-quality training package suitable for anyone who has taken a break from digital/ICT roles.

A collaboration to grow and nurture

We have teamed up with the LGA to give you everything you need for a successful return to work programme. We know how hard it can be to find employment, especially after a long-term break. Our resources will help build your confidence, improve your skills, make the most of your social networks and give you interview tips and preparation.

The programme timeline

Programme timeline for individuals

Stage 1: apply - use our online application form to tell us about yourself.

29 September 2020 – 11 November 2020

Stage 2: complete a video assessment by answering a series of pre-recorded questions.

18 November 2020 – 30 November 2020

Stage 3: an invitation to complete online training with Socitm will be shared with you once you have been accepted onto the programme.

From January 2021

Stage 4: here you can outline your skills and experience for employers to review.

Programme timeline for organisations

Stage 1: Return to Work – ICT launched on 29 September for candidate applications.

29 September 2020 – 18 December 2020

Stage 2: register and complete an online form to start the sign-up process.

From 18 November 2020

Stage 3: participants will be invited to complete online training with Socitm.

From January 2021

Stage 4: review the participants who have outlined their skills, experience and recent training to find and select returning professionals.


Who can apply

Individual requirements icon
Requirements for


xxxYou must have taken a career break of 12 months or more to care for someone.
xxx All candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience working in an ICT role.
xxxThe programme will consider applications from professionals who have caring responsibilities and have become unemployed due to Covid-19, or from those who have been in long-term unemployment.
