Which benefits are available to me?
Stat by logging in to your member account. Then, click the ‘My account’ drop down list in the top right hand corner of the screen, and then click ‘Membership details’. This page includes everything that you have access to within your organisation.

Individual membership
Essential: 15, Essential+: 20, Enhanced: 50, Executive: Unlimited
An individual membership is given to an employee within your organisation. Each membership level allows for a different number of individual members. At the Executive level, your whole team/organisation can benefit from being part of our community.
Webinars
Included in all packages
We know your workloads mean it’s not always possible to find time to read and absorb complex information in a working day. Our webinars, make it easier and less time consuming to access practical information and exclusive learning resources. Join us live or watch recordings at a time to best suit you. They generally take place every Wednesday and every third Friday of the month at 1pm.
Inform subscription
Included in all packages
Our Inform research publications are specifically tailored to provide members with the information you need when you need it most – produced by and designed for the public sector. All our research is published within our resource hub.
We encourage all members to submit blogs, documents, reports, podcasts, webinars and so on that have been helpful – sharing resources only adds further weight to the extensive range of peer-approved content.
Leadership Academy

Our training is designed to harness, develop, and promote the confidence and talent of you and your team. It takes place both in physical and virtual sessions, depending on the training. Unique, inspirational, and universally well-received, our courses support you to invest in individuals, empowering them to confidently take risks and challenge conventions imaginatively.
Graduates are part of our alumni community where mentoring, collaboration and support help develop a bright, vibrant, and dynamic group of future leaders for our sector.

President's Conference

Our annual President’s Conference (in person or online) unites the UK’s most influential public sector digital leaders for networking, keynotes, workshops, and discussion. Themed around our key policy areas, it provides delegates with the latest insights, authoritative information, practical know-how and inspiring stories. It is an opportunity for the entire Socitm community to come together.
This event also hosts our awards ceremony where we acknowledge and celebrate the hard-work, vision, success, best practice, and personal achievements of digital leaders in the public sector.
President's Conference dinner

Our President’s Conference dinner is a spectacular evening with a three-course meal, live music, awards ceremony, and more, that enhances professional and personal networks.

Silktide website accessibility testing

New regulations have been in place for public sector bodies since September 2018 that require websites and mobile apps to be ‘perceivable, operable, understandable and robust’. Developed in partnership with Silktide, our website testing service measures the accessibility of your website and apps. Use it to help you be more inclusive for the community you serve.
Socitm Advisory consulting hours

Socitm Advisory can advise on any digital, ICT and service design related query across the public sector and they will ensure the expertise they provide is at an appropriate level of seniority to reflect the seniority or requirement of the client.
Leadership development support
Hours per package: Essential: 0, Essential+: 0, Enhanced: 4, Executive: 8
Access one-to-one mentoring with our Leadership Manager Aidan Matthews. During the sessions you will have chance to create a personal profile to help understand areas of strengths and identify development opportunities.
As a leader, you can also use the sessions to create a team profile using Belbin Team Roles or Prism Team Dynamics which will give you a unique insight in how your team is operating and actions to create stronger performance.
Customised training plan

The Leadership Academy programmes are designed to run with delegates from different organisations.
However, we do appreciate that to most benefit our members more, some of these can be tailored to meet the requirements of a single organisation or team. Our training director can work with you to tailor a programme for you.
Service Design Maturity Assessment (SDMA) Lite touch workshop
Included in all corporate packages
The Socitm Digital Maturity Assessment (SDMA) is a robust business architecture approach to assessing a public sector organisation’s digital maturity that recognises the importance of the GDS service principles and business architecture. An organisation will receive 2-3 workshops followed by a report based on their maturity assessment.

What is a Socitm member?
A Socitm member is someone who is part of the Socitm community – via either a membership with their organisation or individually.
Socitm members have access to networking opportunities, publications, virtual events, physical events and much more.
Member vs member organisation – what is the difference?
A member organisation is the public sector organisation that has signed up to be part of the Socitm community. The size of this organisation is not limited to a specific number of staff.
A member is an individual person within a member organisation.
Who can become a member?
Any public sector organisation, e.g. local government, central government, blue light, housing, social care, education etc.
What is a main corporate member?
They are our main point of contact for their organisation. This person is our first point of call with anything to do with their membership, such as billing, updating contact details, updating organisation details, and assigning Leadership Academy training points.
It is also their responsibility to encourage their colleagues to take part and engage with Socitm activities.
What is an admin member?
They are someone, assigned by the main corporate member, who manages the contact details of their organisation. This can be adding and removing new/old colleagues, updating their contact details and generally being a positive influence for the rest of the organisation and encouraging engagement.
My account won’t let me sign in. It says it doesn’t recognise my details?
If you are a member, you should be able to create an account on the website. If you are experiencing problems doing this, please make sure you are creating an account first and then you can log in. Where can I find everything that is included in my package?

How do I book onto an event or webinar?
Head to the ‘calendar’ button at the top of your screen and there you will find all events that you have access to.
Once you have identified which event you would like to attend, you can click ‘book your place’ and complete the short registration form.
I’m not receiving any emails about events, what can I do?
Contact hello@socitm.net and the team can check that you are set up correctly and are subscribed to receive the emails.
We have some staff changes in my organisation, how do I update their details?
Your main or admin corporate member can log onto their account and head to the ‘manage organisation’ page and click on the drop down next to each name to edit that person’s details (main corporate members can also remove employees), or add users by clicking ‘add user’ at the top of the page.

How do I access my Silktide report?
Once you are logged into your account, and on the home dashboard, scroll down the page until you see a button saying ‘check your website’s accessibility score’. Once clicked, a new page will open with your personalised report to work from.

I want to upgrade my membership, how do I do this?

How does the Leadership Academy points system work?
Depending on what corporate membership your organisation has, you have between 4 and 16 points. Each of our courses are worth a certain number of points. So, when you book your training, this number of points will be deducted from your organisation’s total.
Your main corporate member will always need to confirm the use of Leadership Academy points.
