How resilience is critical to sustaining a long and exciting career

On the 25th April at The Share Cambridge Event, we are focusing on health and wellbeing and how Digital Transformation can help improve residents lives. During the event, we will also be discussing how to improve our own wellbeing within our respective roles.

We are delighted to have Lisa Harrington as a Keynote Speaker at the event. Lisa is going to be talking about the importance of resilience in your career and how developing it can be the key to a long and exciting career. Using examples from her own career and tactics to improve your work-life balance.

“Many people split work and home life.  My observation is that to be happy in work or home requires similar coping and thriving strategies.”

During her session, Lisa will be speaking about a few key areas to boost your resilience in the workplace. Here is a small insight into some of the key lessons that Lisa has learnt through her career journey:

Don’t underestimate the importance of community– for Lisa, as a Mum and becoming a Board Member at BT, it wouldn’t have been possible without the support network that they had to build around them.

Prioritise! Don’t be afraid to say no.

Know yourself. This is important, especially when prioritising your work and personal life. Regularly re-assess your priorities to fit with life’s ups and downs.

Make time to look after yourself. Your physical and mental wellbeing is hugely important, if you sacrifice this- then how can you perform in all areas of your life?
