Now that remote working is the current “new normal” and the likelihood of many employees continuing with this in the future, we have seen a significant interest in organisations being keen to understand how they can ensure staff are actually being productive. More importantly, concerns for employee wellbeing are rising too.
There is a fine balance here – being “Productive” can mean different things to different people – to some Managers it could mean completing your work on time to an appropriate level of quality (regardless of timing), unfortunately to others it would seem as simple as ensuring employees are working 9-5 each work day (although thankfully they are in the minority) – the real answer isn’t quite so simple. Parents home schooling and working from home can’t possibly achieve a standard working week – which is why thought should be given to wellbeing and work/life balance instead.
Workplace Analytics could be the answer. The data and insights this tool provides would benefit Management, IT and HR equally.
