Readers slightly older than me may remember the game ‘Golf’ on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the 80s (it was a golfing game). Well, it appears that a version of it has been hidden in Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch.

Here’s the really nice bit: as it only seems to appear on July 11, it’s thought that it was included as a homage to Nintendo’s late president and CEO, Satoru Iwata, who designed the original game and who died on that date in 2015. This means that his code lives on, which is really touching. Read more.


A man’s Instagram video led to his own arrest, in a classic criminal bungling event. Christopher Ricardo Gonzalez decided to show off his weapon arsenal (as you do) on the internet; however, the police managed to pinpoint the location of the live stream and took the 18-year-old into custody.

He’s suspected of murder, robbery and poor IT skills.


An electric bus has broken the World Record for the distance travelled by an electric vehicle on a single charge. Californian firm Proterra’s Catalyst E2 Max bus managed to travel 1,101 miles before its batteries packed up. Remarkable stuff. Surely, surely the game’s up for petrol and diesel now?
